About Lekeya Hutton, CRNP

Lekeya Hutton studied her Associate's Degree in Nursing at Howard Community College. After successful completion, she was able to obtain employment with Johns Hopkins Hospital where she has worked for over 8 years as a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse. After working for 1 year she decided to further her academic career and obtain both her Bachelor of Science Degree and then shortly afterward her Master of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing.  She holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has gained employment in Family Medicine and Adult Geriatric Care where she has managed and treated acute and chronic conditions.  Her passion and commitment to nursing are what led her to further develop her expertise in substance abuse treatment and medical cannabis. Our Suboxone clinic is conveniently located in Baltimore, MD and Rosedale MD, as well as spanning our reach across the state of Maryland through our Telehealth / Telemedicine or online suboxone doctor appointments. Starting in one of our Suboxone Clinic’s Treatment programs can be one of the best choices a person can make in early recovery. A Suboxone Treatment or Medication-Assisted therapy program is primarily used to treat substance use disorders such as alcoholism, heroin addiction, or opioid prescription pain medication addiction. Participating in a Suboxone Treatment program will promote an increased recovery time and promote lifelong results decreasing the risk of relapse and drug overdose. With Suboxone Treatment you can start to enjoy life again.

Suboxone is a great medication to use for treatment. It contains an opioid called buprenorphine. Unlike methadone, buprenorphine is only a partial agonist. Like methadone, it attaches to opioid receptors in the brain. But it doesn’t stimulate them in the same way a full agonist like methadone does. Suboxone also contains a drug called naloxone, which is effective at blocking other opioids from binding to receptors. This drug can even be used to reverse overdoses. Because of this, it’s not possible to overdose on Suboxone. Suboxone is very effective for people battling opioid use disorder. The opiate withdrawal relief medication works on the central nervous system to prevent severe symptoms in people who’ve become physically dependent on opioids. When taken properly, individuals on Suboxone will have no cravings, have no withdrawal, and will feel ‘normal’…that’s why it’s so effective.
